London suffers from one of the highest skills gap in Europe, the Government has announced that they want to see one in five young people being offered an apprenticeship training course to improve their skills. With this in mind the Government are making a concerted effort by funding 35,000 new apprenticeships as part of an employment initiative scheme.
London is home to nearly 642,000 adults who have completed a trade apprenticeship, ONC, OND or City & Guilds. Only the Midlands can rival such a figure as a region.
