Teaching Appointments
Monday
Teaching and education has been one of the few sectors that has benefited from the recession. The Training and Development Agency for Schools has found that more and more professionals are looking to transfer the skills that they have gained in the commercial sector into the classroom.
To put the popularity of teacher training into perspective, 10 people apply for postgraduate teacher training every hour. 2009/10 was a record year for The TDA, nearly 39,000 new teachers were recruited. Last year also saw an increase in the number of new applicants over the age of 25; 49% of the 2009/10 intake were aged over 25.
With over 3,000 education institutions in London, there is a constant demand for qualified education professionals at all levels across a range of disciplines.
It will come as no surprise to learn that London has more adults who work in teaching occupations than any other region in the UK. In addition to this, Londoners are more likely than adults living in any other region in the UK to be working in teaching occupations.
