The Importance of London
The governments commitment to apprenticeships is reflected in the fact that it is to fund 35,000 new apprenticeships as part of an employment initiative.
Apprenticeships help to make organisations more effective, productive and competitive by harnessing new talent and addressing skills gaps directly. By investing an additional £140 million the government hope to produce new apprentices for both the public and private sectors.
London is home to over 860,000 adults who have completed a trade apprenticeship, ONC, OND or City & Guilds, this is more than any other region in the UK.
