Affordable Housing

Metro (London) has been championing affordable housing since it was born out of the Key Worker schemes a number of years ago. Metro’s young audience - it is the youngest amongst national newspapers - dictates that many do not own their home and getting onto the property ladder is high on their agenda.

Higher than average house prices in London have led to affordable housing being not just an option but a necessity, this may go some way to explaining why over three quarters of Metro readers are open to alternative approaches to buying a home.

Metro’s commitment to the affordable housing sector can be seen in the fact that editorially supported features have been running on the first Wednesday of every month since April 2006, not only providing information for readers but also generating enquiries and footfall for developers.

Every day in London, Metro reaches more first time buyers* than any other national daily newspaper.
