Franchising
UK franchise businesses continue to grow and remain robust despite the challenging economic conditions with turnover increasing by £600 million (+5%) in 2010 to £12.4 billion. The last 12 months also saw an additional 56,000 jobs created taking the number of people employed in the franshise sector to over 500,000.
Encouragingly, estimated start-up costs have declined slightly and new entrants to the franchise market can expect to pay £46,700 in fees and other associated costs to their franchisor.
London as a region is home to an ambitious and cash rich population. AB Adults living in London have - on average - savings/investments valued at £64,133, this is higher than any other region in the country and 10% higher than the national average. London is also home to more adults who would like to set up their own business one day than anywhere else in the UK.
