On 12th October 2009, the London Evening Standard became the world's first free quality newspaper.The number of distributed copies of the London Evening Standard now stands at 700,000 a day.
The London Evening Standard is now more accessible to more Londoners than ever before; a commitment to quality journalism and an intelligent and targeted distribution model ensure the retention of an upmarket audience.
Everyday of the working week 260 merchandisers hand distribute copies of the London Evening Standard at key commuter hotspots throughout the capital. Londoners can also pick up their free quality newspaper at over 100 tube stations and at 12 Network Rail stations across the city. In addition to this the London Evening Standard also has exclusivity in Canary Wharf, distributing 30,000 copies at the heart of London's financial district.
The London Evening Standard is also available at a selection of retail outlets such as; WH Smith, ASDA, Morrisons, Tesco and Sainsburys as well as in British Airways Lounges, and Eurostar trains.
