Debt Management
The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) predicts that household debt will reach £1.8bn by the end of 2015, which is a growth of £159m a day. This would take the average household debt in the UK to £72,341 per household.
Total UK personal debt at the end of July 2010 stood at nearly £1.5bn.
The Citizen's Advice Bureau are taking over 9,000 new calls daily regarding personal debt and 84% of Britain’s population still feel that they have financial worries suggesting that although there are signs of recovery, confidence is not back to where it was before the recession.
London as a region has a population who are more likely than the national average to have 3 or more credit cards. The capital is also home to more adults who have a loan with a value of £10,000 or more than any other region in the country.
